To enable new and experienced simulation trainers to develop their training skills further, as well as for clinicians in a management or supervisory role who wish to develop more effective coaching and performance management skills. 

 Objectives:     By the end of the course delegates will:

 .  Have a clear understanding of Human Factors and the impact on Patient Safety.

.  Understand effective non-clinical skills standards and competencies.

.  Understand what facilitation is and how it should be used effectively.

.  Further develop and demonstrate an appropriate communication style.

.  Have awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses as trainers or coaches.

.  Understand behaviour and how to manage difficult situations.

.  Develop the skills to give and receive constructive criticism and praise.

.  Refine their observation and debriefing skills.
